According to the Section 336 of the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012 : The term ‘‘public unmanned aircraft system’’ means an unmanned aircraft system that meets the qualifications and conditions required for operation of a public aircraft (as defined in section 40102 of title 49, United States Code).”

It would be very unfortunate incident that your very interesting gift that is drone would lose its enthusiasm and landed on the ground within Short period of time. The sad face of your kid is the last thing you want to see.
So please don’t let your kid down only for the tony but good battery. The reliable power source for the Drone is important. Battery and Charger is Important. Batteries can be heavy and expensive. They must be charged. And another thing to consider that for the motorized device batteries don’t last long.
LiPo Batteries :
Drones have to be powered with LiPo batteries.
Now what is a LiPo Battery. LiPo batteries give you faster output, Can storage more power and Last long .
If you use the drone normally (meaning that if it does not need to take the load of getting over the extra pressure for rough weather or anything ) it should last from at least 8 minutes to 12 minutes. More than this is a Bonus!
The life and size of the battery depends on the size of the Drone.
Any Battery or manufacturer’s specific battery:
If you have the option to use aftermarket battery rather than the manufacturer’s specific battery than it would save money for you in the long run. So please check out whether the batteries for the Drone you are buying are available.
Consider the cost of spare or replacement batteries. For example, If a Drone costs $500 and the replacement battery for the Drone is around $100. That means that batteries are 20 percent of the cost of this particular drone. But there are other batteries which costs 5 percent of the costs of the corresponding drones.
Charging stations are less expensive than Batteries. Charging time of a charger depends on output which is measured by amps. The higher the amps the more is the charging time. For example, Charger with 2 amps will take an hour to an hour and a half to charge the battery.
But there are chargers available in market that charges at 6 amps could reduce the charge time by half an hour. Of course you have to ensure that the caution inscribed on the charger is followed.
How long your drone will hover over the space is primarily decided by the efficiency of your battery. Yes, there are other factors like Weight, Power of motors, and the size of propellers. But without power everything is useless.
Whatever you name it, drones or multirotors or quadcopters or flying cameras, as of December 21, 2015, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is requesting anyone who wants to fly an unmanned aerial system (UAS) more than 0.55 pounds (250 grams) and less than 55 pounds (approximately 25 kilograms) for recreation or hobby to register with the agency.
The final weight of the Drone would be its very weight plus the weight of the motor and propeller. If you are thinking about FPV or aero photography, you will need to add the weight of the camera as well.
Although you can choose the motors for the weight you want to carry, it’s always a good idea to carry as little weight as possible. Lightness is very important to all aircraft because any excess weight could reduce your battery life and maneuverability.
A drone has two clockwise(CW) and two counter-clockwise(CCW) propellers. Length and pitch are the two functions that are to be considered while defining the properties of Drone. For example 9×4.7 propellers means it has a length 9 inch and has a pitch of 4.7.The more the length and pitch the more the current.
The distance Traveled by the drone in one single rotation is called a pitch. In a word, the higher the pitch the slower the rotation. But in that case the speed will increase and consequently the use of power will increase.
There should be a balance between length and the pitch. Low pitch would give more torque. As for low pitch propeller, the motors need to work less and requires less current with. Torque propeller will give you generate more acceleration using less power. Therefore increase stability. It requires if you want some acrobatics.
On the contrary, a higher pitch propeller propels more air, create turmoil and cause the drone to vibrate while hovering.
So, your decision should be choosing propellers with lower pitch.
To what extent your propeller is efficient depends on the contact area of the propeller with the air. That simply draw the conclusion that the more the length, the more efficient your propeller be.
But there is a drawback for the long propeller. You cannot speed down or stop the propeller easily. This happens, as we know for inertia. Large propeller would also generate more current.
For larger quad copters that carry payloads, large propellers and low-kv motors tend to work better. These have more rotational momentum, and will more easily maintain your aircraft’s stability.

When selecting motors, there usually is specification that comes with the motor either provided by the seller or manufacturer. You should be able to find information about the power, thrust, rpm etc.The first consideration while choosing a motor is the weight it has to take. And the second measurement is the thrust, necessary to lift the drone. The general rule is the trust required should be double the weight of the device. Your motor will provide the trust. If the trust is low that it would not be able to control the drone even could fail to take off. On the contrary, if the thrust is too high, it would be nimble and out of control.
A rule of thumb is Required Thrust per motor = ( Weight x 2 ) / 4
So the equation is clear. For a drone of 1 Kg we need 4 motors and each of should generate 500 gm. So that the total trust would be 2 kg. But A little more trust serves better.
Mind it! The final weight of the Drone would be it’s very weight plus the weight of the motor and propeller. If you are thinking about FPV or aero photography, you will need to add the weight of the camera as well. And if it is used for something innovative purpose like Dronefishing, The weight really matters.
More on Motor Efficiency
The lighter the battery the more efficient it would be.
Efficiency is important factor. The more the efficiency the better.Less efficiency leads to wasting of power and smaller thrust even on full throttle.Less efficiency decreases response time and make the drone less stable.
When you receive your motor, the first thing you have to do is balance it. And you can choose from many options, brand that are less heavy and more efficient.
